Power station 24
Question = A substation supplies power by four feeders to its consumers . Feeder no. 1 supplies 6 consumers whose individual daily maximum demand are 70 kW , 90 kW , 20 kW , 50 kW , 10 kW and 20 kW . While the maximum demand on the feeder is 200 kW .
Feeder no. 2 supplies 4 consumers whose daily maximum demand are 60 kW , 40 kW , 70 kW , and 30 kW . While the maximum demand on the feeder is 160 kW .
Feeder no.3 and 4 have a daily maximum demand of 150 kW and 200 kW respectively , while the maximum demand on the station is 600 kW .
Determine the diversity factor for feeder no. 1 , feeder no 2 and 4 feeder . ?
Solution =
feeder no 1 , following loads = 70 + 90 + 20 + 50 + 10 + 20 , = 260 kW ,
» maximum demand = 200 kW ,
» Diversity factor = sum of individual maximum demand ÷ max.. demand on feeder ,
» 260 ÷ 200 = 1.3 , answer ✓
Feeder no 2 following loads = 60 + 40 +70 +30 .= 200 kW ,
» maximum demand = 160 kW ,
» diversity factor = 200 ÷ 160 = 1.25 answer ✓
For the 4 feeder = maximum demand (1) 200 kW (2) 160 kW (3) 150 kW (4) 200 kW ,
» total M.D. = 200 +160 + 150 + 200 = 710 kW ,
» while the maximum demand on the station = 600 kW ,
» diversity factor = total M.D. on the feeder ÷ M.D. on the station ,
» 710 ÷ 600 = 1.18 , answer ✓
